Cutting Glass

No matter cutting glass or piercing delicate glass is not a problem with APW waterjet technology. From artistic tabletop inlays to detailed stained glass designs, users from a variety of industries have discovered the versatility and cost-effectiveness of APW waterjet.
If you can draw it, you can cut it! It can be cut like an Artwork!

Versatility

Hole drilling is easy for our waterjets, as is stained glass cutting at the other end of the spectrum. There's no need to etch and break when you are cutting glass with waterjets, so there's less wasted material.

Power
Bullet proof glass is a snap for APW waterjets to cut even though It may be able to stop a 50 caliber shell. Our waterjets is quick and powerful on cutting ballistic

Superior
Float Glass and Hurricane Glass are the growing area for waterjet industry as well. As the composition of glass clad/polycarbonate structure with laminate material, Float Glass and Hurricane Glass are very difficult to be cut by traditional methods.
Our waterjets are the superior method for cutting these glass.

Advantages of Cutting Glass with Waterjet:

Cut glass geometry that common machining cannot perform
Delicate glass does not crack during processing
Precisely cut thin to thick glass without changing any tooling
Cuts glass panels up to 4" (10cm) in thickness
Eliminates pressure of cutting process on surface material
No heat affected zone (HAZ)
No tool to sharpen
No or reduced need for reworking of the cut edge
No waste of material, narrow cutting gap
Cost effective means of cutting holes in glass
Create intricate design in any shape and size
(Not suitable for the processing of tempered or hot glass)
